Good Byes

It took Lydia and I 2 hours to get Kobae in the beater 250 for his ride to San Diego. We tried lifting him but the door wouldn't open wide enough to get him in and us. We made a ramp and he slid off it twice. We made a staircase of hay bales and lured him with romaine but he figured it out and retreated it backwards. Finally I backed a side by side up to the porch and pulled the tailgate down so we only had to lift him two feet. Then drove the side by side and backed it up to the open back seat door, stuck hay bales in the gap between the truck and side by side, then ran a ramp across it and finally he was in. I took it a little slow going to San Diego and having driven by it hundreds of times Jax and I stopped to see Peggy Sue's 50's Diner.
A storm was coming for the drive back so we only stayed a day or two and headed back to Moab but Jax had to say his goodbye to Kobae.
We just beat the storm and got back to the lodge at 5:30am. It was Lydia's last working day at Base Camp and she packed up to return to Salt Lake but with first saying goodbye to Jax.
