Into the Finger Canyons

Packed

For nearly a week the lodge has been packed. It's a rare night when even one room goes vacant just for that night. Guests are kayaking, hiking, on side by sides, and others just relaxing. For Tom the days are full and it will stay like this until the completion of the disc golf tournament on April 7th. A few shots Tom has managed to get in the last few days.

Getting Closer

In the last four years Kobae has stayed in the laundry room maybe a handful of times and all the other nights has stayed in his house. This years since returning from San Diego he has daily gone to his house, smelled the badger that occupied it during the winter and has long since been evicted, goes down inside his house, into the tunnel, and then Tom sees dirt flying out of it as he evicts the badger smell and moves things around the way he likes them. Then, not long before dark he returns to the lodge and sleeps in the laundry room. On this day Kobae has gone down once, come back up, and is now approaching it for a second time which he has so far not done. Hopefully this is the time Kobae returns to his home.

The Tombstones

Patrick and Tom climb the Tombstones. Patrick carries many pounds of camera gear. Here are Tom's photos but it's likely in a few days there will be some better ones.

Forty One Hours

At 6pm on Tuesday Kobae smelled around his house and then went in the laundry room instead. At 11am Thursday morning (41 hours later) Kobae woke up and picked the least convenient place to lay down for all the guests and Tom.Tom explains to Kobae that where he is laying it's hard for the guests to get around him going in and out of the lodge and would he please move. So he does. Tom explains to Kobae that's not quite what he meant and so Kobae moves again. Kobae I kind of hate to bring this up but nobody can sit down on the bench.

Each Evening the Same

Kobae walks across the driveway, around his house, enters, goes down to the tunnel, sniffs it, comes back out, inside the lodge, into the laundry room where he puts his head behind the washer and goes to sleep. He's so cute when he's sleeping.
