Lockhart Trouble

Just before dark Thursday evening eight motorcycles come up the driveway with riders looking as tired as I've ever seen anybody. They left Moab around 3pm trying to get down Lockhart before dark but on mostly street bikes didn't know what they were in for. It was 95 degrees when they came up the driveway. They said they spent so much energy just getting through that first mile that the next time they hit something difficult they didn't have anything left so turned around and got beat up again on the way back.
Some could barely get off their motorcycles while others struggled to walk up the steps. It's as tired as I've ever seen riders coming to the porch. The mosquitoes had just come out and they didn't care. The five gallon water jug on the porch was drained quickly. They decided to finish it out and head to Moab. Some needed help getting up from the sitting position. I was putting mosquito repellent on them as most were too tired to do it themselves. In time they mounted up Moab bound.
