Sunday Evening, The Singer

 Kobae didn't go hiking and went inside a little early so Jax and I took off to get some hiking in for ourselves.

It was quiet and beautiful. Jax and I sat on the rocks just enjoying the quiet and the warmth of a setting sun.

Then out behind the lodge down towards the creek bed or gravel pit a male voice started up singing beautiful songs in a language not known to me. I'd seen guests on the back porch headed that way when I left to go hiking so figured it was them. The voice sang for at least a half hour or so. Jax and I tried to identify where it was coming from but we couldn't see anything. It sounded like it was moving around but we never saw anyone.

The rocks lit up as the voice grew bolder and louder.

Jax and I continued to watch the creek bed and where we found the hippie girl last summer nearly drowned and with needles sticking all out of her. At time it sounded like a little bit of an echo so I thought me might be in but we never saw anyone.

Just before dark the voice still moving around went silent. We looked for our guests to be walking from the creek bed back to the lodge but never saw them. When we returned to the lodge they were there and said it wasn't them. They were on the back porch looking out toward the creek bed for the voice and they never saw anyone either.

Nate came back from the north side of the property a few minutes later and said he was at the boat dock when the sun went down and he saw someone on the beach, he thought the other side of the river walking back and forth and he thinks that's who was doing the singing.

The Canyonlands

 On Friday at the Star Hall in Moab they showed The Canyonlands which was filmed almost completely here on the property. I had errands to do so I went in at 3pm as the town mostly closes down by 5pm. Doors opened at 6pm and I was there already and movie started at 7pm. There were about 60 or so people there. No one I knew from the movie. It was a cool setting seeing it indoors in a theatre setting. Was weird to see Linny in the movie playing on the big screen. We'd watched it a couple times in the living room but this was different.

Some of the characters were not very likable and the crowd applauded when the stuck up girl got killed. That appeared to be the case each time a character got killed. There was quite a bit of applause when it ended. I went outside in the parking area and listened to people talk and there was a group of seven close to me. They talked about certain lines that characters said and how they died. As they were breaking up one lady said "That was fun. I'm glad we got to see it together." I'm glad I went. Despite it being a horror movie it brought an enjoyable time to everyone that was there.

Kobae's House

 Kobae hasn't gone down in his house in more than a month. Couple of folks including Erich have emailed to say his door is too small which is somewhat true. He does scrape the door sides when he goes in there. Knowing Kobae as I do I didn't think it made much difference. He never gives up. I fight him every time we go hiking to get him to turn around and the battle rages for up to an hour. I'm exhausted by the time I get him turned around and then have to fight him by walking where I don't want him to go for another mile or so. Collin went out and dug his door out and widened both the gate door and the house door. Kobae watched from the porch. Later when he finally left the porch I guided him over there and he didn't want to go down but he laid down and kept staring at it. Then he headed in, turned around, threw a bunch of dirt around for five minutes then came back out. This is about the time of years he heads into the house as it's too cold at night so we'll likely not find out if this is the answer until next April sometime.

Ford Edge

Drove a Ford Edge out for a couple then Jax and I got to hike back from Hurrah. 

Found Tony's pumpkin on the way down that he kept in front of his room four or five days.

Beach changes after every rain since it's reborn by the driveway flush. 

Found the tree the swept down the river girl was under when she got swept down the river summer before and we had to rescue them day before the hippies took over Hull's Place.

Quick Note

 For the couple that called a couple nights ago saying they couldn't get up Hurrah in their I think it was a Tahoe and I could hear in the background the boyfriend say "A Prius never made it up here." Actually there have been six or seven as I recall but here's the last picture I found.
