Reed Problem

The pond on the north side of the property (Last Hurrah) has grown reeds like nobody's business. The roots link together in the soil and it's almost impossible to pull just one out. The others won't let go. The only possibility that I'm aware of is to drain the pond and kill all the fish and frogs. It's also the resting place for the red winged blackbirds and cow birds.

When I went back to pick up Kobae Jax and I hiked through one of the canyons and came to Dishwasher Pond in Tierrasanta. There was a groundskeeper fro the City of San Diego there. I ask him if he knew how to get rid of the reeds. He sais "You can't."

I found a picture of the pond next door when it was created 20 something years ago.
