August Already

Financially the lodge is about even with last year which was the second best year of 16 years. Strangely enough the Covid year was the best. When it hit I was down by $75,000 when May 31st came. Then people decided they weren't staying home anymore. They'd been locked up for three months and they were done wih it. By Sep 30th I was even and at the end of the year I finished up by $75,000 from the year before. Didn't see any of that coming.
Trying to get 2022 taxes done, this week I hope because soon life out here is unpredicatable. Temps have dropped into the low 90s mostly and Jax got a hair cut this week so once we feed Kobae around 5pm we can go hiking until almost dark.
Usually Kobae doesn't start hiking until end of August but last year he did it in middle of August then someone has to go with him. Usually I have to fight him to get him to come back and we might battle for 45 minutes and at the conclusion he's no close to home than he was when we started the battle.
The river is still two feet deeper on this day than it was same day last year. Sandbar shows up occasionally and then disappears a day or two later. River has gone up almost a foot in the last week and still no beach.
