Breakfast is now at 5:40am and the day's meeting at 6:40. That mostly prevents late night partying but last night, versus Sunday night where they were all watching Game of Thrones and criticizing various aspects of camera angles and sound effects and the like, last night they were celebrating still being on schedule and things going pretty well so there was a little drinking and dancing but so far they are a pretty disciplined bunch and most anywhere you walk there are small groups discussing or rehearsing the script for the coming day.
I did not imagine the beating the side by sides would take, all four of them, during the filming. I imagined them taking people to the location and later bringing them back but they are constantly moving about the property transporting cast, crew, and effects. I have a trash run this morning and can't see out of the rear view mirror. There are 30 or so people here and they are going through the resources like I've never seen.
Monday was the first day of Linny filming. She sat at a make up table for two hours while they applied ghost paint to her and her clothes. The scene is at the boat ramp where one of the cast members who is lost is resting trying to decide what to do next when the ghost of "The Girl" comes up behind him. Here's the crew setting up the scene.
There were at least six takes of which I caught two of them on camera. First they tried it with hands in the air reaching out, then one arm, then a bent arm, from one angle, another angle, higher, lower. I could see Linny getting frustrated because she wasn't hearing what I was hearing. She thought they were having her do it over and over again because she wasn't doing it right but in the tent I was hearing "She's killing it, killing it. Nice job. Ok, let's try it from another angle."
