Breakfast at Tiffany's
The first video we get a look at a Cool Hand House Finch. It's still amazing to me, in this case House Finches, how quickly they can pick up a sun flower seed, turn it, break it, spit out the shell, swallow the seed, and repeat. Just a couple seconds at the most. The second video is a case of mistaken identity. Tiffany's has cleared out because the Pinyon Jay looks like a Loggerhead Shrike which is a predator bird known as "The Butcher". Worse, when it comes into land its sleek flying style makes it look like a falcon. Some days you just can't catch a break. The third video shows the return of the Red-winged blackbirds. I haven't seen much of them the last few months but with colder temps they have returned in force. In the fourth video the Red-wingled blackbirds are normally pretty social but once it gets crowded there's a few territorial disputes. There is a single White-crowned sparrow in the mix that just refuses to move out.The fifth video, well I repeat myself. Off to look for Dino footprints.
