Even with a 1:30 afternoon departure traffic sucked all the way to Victorville mostly. Normally 2.5 hours but with Friday afternoon traffic, 4.5 hours. There was a decent crowd at the game in anticipation of Landon scoring his first indoor goal. While people were still looking for their seats Landon scored 12 seconds into the game, wound up with two goals and two assists and the Sockers won 13 to 2. I did beat the rain all the way and got in at 4:30am. Returned 12 booking requests from while I was driving and got to bed around 5am. At 8am I built a ramp out of spare tires and suitcases up to the truck, opened the door to let Kobae out and then went to get my camera. By the time I got back Kobae had already exited the truck and was on the porch. Usually for the next month Kobae just hangs out on the porch getting re-adjusted to his new digs. This time though Kobae was ready to go hiking and we were gone. For the next hour or so Kobae checked out all his favorite places and then after he came around the corner he sat out front of the lodge for a minute and then paid Base Camp and myself the ultimate compliment though it might not look like it if you're not in the know. In addition to pee and poop he has a reserve he can use. Kobae released his reserve which means he has no stress. He knows here his next meal is coming from and he's comfortable in his surroundings. Much like Ground Hog day determines the beginning of Spring the return of Kobae means a new season is upon us. As always it will be a ride.
