Cold it is. Was December 3rd last time the temp was 32 or above even for a moment. Maybe in a few days. Still better than three winters ago when we went 37 days without getting above freezing. One day it got up to 37 and Linny and I put shorts, sandals, and tshirts on and went out and sat in lawn chairs on the porch. Linny says "Tom look, you can't even see your breath."
Kitty, the smallest ring tail is there waiting almost every night. There's a second ring tail just a little bit bigger that shows up later. Those two get a long fine but there's a much larger one that comes after midnight that chases them up the poles. I can hear them running across the roof being chased some nights. The two small spotted skunks have found a way to get under the house. I can tell when they come because I hear them crawling through the insulation. Little dispute a couple nights ago when one of the skunks sprayed one of the ring tails. There's a two eared Gray fox that shows up between 3 and 4pm and One Ear always shows up in the morning. He's out there right now eating. I went out to scare off a Sharp-shinned that was after the song birds and ran into One Ear coming up the stairs.
