Colorado 2 Campbell Mine Roads

Tom expected to explore the old mine roads that he had yet to travel in two or three hours. However the roads, long since abandoned and with numerous rock falls, were frequently as much big horn trail as they were mine road. Though the mine complex roads were frequently covered with rock fall, there was always a slight trail with big horn footprints picking it's way through the rubble, on the narrowest of ledges. Getting to this complex is a chore even in the jeep, but thanks to the Scorpa trials bike, was a breeze. Still, Tom arrived at the base of the mine roads at 10:30 am and after many miles of hiking when darkness came at 5:pm, not a single mine had been located. Tom found much broken and crushed wood and core samples, but no mines. Tom, and on occasion with guests, has visited mines here before, and there are several trails left to explore but will have to happen another day.
