Kobae's last day at Base Camp begins as most do, charging his solar operating system in the sun of the front porch. Seemingly knowing it's his last day to hike this incredible landscape until next year, he makes a full day of it. Through the creek bed behind the lodge. Then he picks up the prints and smell of the Big Horn herd Tom saw with friends while hiking Skinny People on Saturday and faced with a choice for a nice trail either right or left he pushes through the thick bush in the middle. The day ends as it began with one final charge as the sun hits him from his left, reflects off the wood in front of him and the black mat heats him from below. Kobae knows well the warmest spot on the porch. Not his first time.
