Lizards, Courtesy of Debbie
The first guy is a Side Blotch. They like to hang around and see what you are up to and are caught, observed, and released fairly easily. The second one, in three plus years at Base Camp, Tom has never seen a Whiptail caught. These guys are fast as lightning and incredibly skittish. Running well before you get to them. "Guys" was the wrong word. Whiptails are female. The mother lays clone eggs, a result of hybridization between two other species.
