Hiking Around Prommel Well #1

The Road

Today Jax and I were hiking around out by the abandoned Prommel Well #1 which closed down around 1930. The road going out to it is now called Jackson Hole where a little bit further out the Jackson family had cattle. Hiking back toward the well we were just a hundred feet or so from the road and I for the first time saw all the work that had gone into just this section to keep it stable on the way to the well.

Hurrah Pass

This year I've decided to get rid of my winter belly before the season starts so each morning Jax and I have been on a couple hour hike. Today, Wednesday, we hiked up to Hurrah Pass and back. Jax hikes about twice as far as I do each day. He runs a couple hundred feet ahead and then runs back to see if I'm still coming and then races ahead again. There's no walking for him.

As Doug and I are going through Last Hurrah and I'm receiving a tutorial on how things work I notice one of Jax's new friends in the background keeping an eye on him.
