In Search of Hurrah

Unable to find Hurrah at the old cowboy camp Linny and Tom set out to see if there are tracks at the Wind Caves or by a different cowboy camp back in Dripping Springs.

Linny Battles the Trail

Linny and Tom side by side to Jackson Hole. Not the one in Wyoming, the one where the Jackson family herded cows a hundred years ago about eight miles north of the lodge.

Tracking Hurrah

Each time Linny and or Tom have approached Hurrah he has retreated. Having quickly finished all the food left out for him he heads back down the driveway. Linny and Tom assume he's headed back to the former cowboy camp where they might be able to catch him if he's under the rock they've seen him at before. First, got to find tracks indicating that's where he's headed before making the drive again.

Hurrah

It's been ten days since Linny and Tom have seen Hurrah the abandoned cattle dog. It's been six days since they've seen any good tracks. For the last two days neither Linny or Tom have driven out to the former cowboy camp to see if Hurrah is there. All signs indicate something is eating the food but it's not a dog. Sitting in the office Tom sees movement coming up the driveway and it looks like a dog. He calls Linny and she see something also, then again walking around the back of the lodge. Linny and Tom begin following the tracks and see Hurrah by the river but he won't come to them. Returning to the lodge Linny and Tom place significant food on the front porch and then go to the office window to wait. It's not long.

Linny and Tom spend a chunk of New Year's Eve day trying to fit in a 14 by 28 foot garage, two side by sides, two 2 person kayaks, two 1 person kayaks, one ATV, four motorcycles, and all the miscellaneous tires, gas cans, extra parts, and tools that go with in addition to lodge stuff. After about two and a half hours it is done. Little tight though. Haven't figured out how to get Linny out yet but she doesn't care.

Falling in Love

Tom has always been nervous thinking about the day when Linny has her first crush. Generally a fearless wild child Tom knew there would be problems when that day came. However it hasn't been nearly as bad as Tom thought it might be as Linny's first crush is on the side by sides. Linny doesn't eat her meals at the table or watching TV, no she takes her meals outside and eats them in one of the side by sides.
