Surrounded by the Amasa Back, Hurrah Pass, Anticline, and Dead Horse Point and with the Colorado River running alongside, you’ve discovered Base Camp. A one of a kind wilderness lodge.
The thing Kobae dislikes the most is to be picked up. Despite that he has chosen the same dead end canyon five days in a row where pickup is the only option.
I'm lifting him up an overhang that gets real narrow back there. If I didn't life him he'd go underneath and it would be way more difficult getting him out then lifting him up. Fortunately the storms have dropped and extra foot of dirt down there. Otherwise as with last year I'd have to life him about a foot higher and I doubt I can do that anymore. I'd have to build and keep about a fifteen foot long ramp back there and very wide or he wouldn't go up it and then have to find a way to fix it so it didn't move.

What would he do if you didn't pick him up? Or maybe it is time to build him a temporary ramp before you throw out your back!

Definitely time to stock up on ibuprofen!
