Moab Rim Trail II

Gary and Tom see the Saddle in the distance, the Anti Cline and Hurrah Pass on the left in the second picture, the far reaches of the Moab Rim Trail, and back down the many off camber turns at the end returning to the truck.

Ride the Moab Rim Trail

Gary and Tom take the Scorpa trials bikes and scale the tricky and treacherous Moab Rim Trail until they reach the top looking down at the town of Moab.

Kayak the Colorado II

The journey continues past the Pot Ash Plant, alongside a sightseeing boat from Texas Riverways, and last Base Camp can be seen just above the green plant life on the left hand shore.

The Big Horn Trail to the Wind Caves

Dick, Becky, Emma, and Tom follow the Big Horn Trail and find the way down the south side to the Wind Caves.

Emma, Kobae, and Lockhart Basin

Emma visits Base Camp and Kobae immediately goes for dominance. Kobae and Tom go hiking in Hall's Canyon where Kobae finds some shade and falls asleep. As the day ends the Bobick and Amos families search with Tom for the granary and possible dwelling in Lockhart Basin.

Wall Lizards, Rainbows, Stranded, and a Parrot

One of the many lizards that live on the front porch wall. Returning from Chicken Corner a rainbow. Kane Creek floods and Base Camp rounds up all the people stranded on the west side of Hurrah to wait for the creek to go down, to include Scott and his ride a long partner.

Cliff Hanger

Tom and Linny pull over in the jeep and check out whether they'd like to try Cliff Hangar. the 4WD book says "Make no mistake, this trail is strictly hardcore with many big ledges and challenging obstacles. Trail not suitable for most vehicles. Main route is 4.3 miles one way. Allow 3 to 4 hours."

Holy potential rollover, Tom and Linny have decided perhaps another day.

Light It Up Mama, You Go Girl

Linny and Tom watch wall climbers, examine Fremont rock art, (Fremont Indians draw their subjects with triangles and squares), Kobae returns from security patrol, and Mother Nature does what she so often does at Base Camp.

The Anti Cline

On another Base Camp perfect evening, Linny and Tom, drive up to the top of Hurrah Pass to watch the sun light up the Anti Cline and as usual, Mother Nature does not disappoint.
