Tom has much work. Hiking with Kobae is time extensive. Tom plots perhaps just his shadow can follow Kobae. He can work at the lodge. Sun cloning. It's working. Tom is at the lodge. His shadow alone walks with Kobae. In time, the shadows break away on their own, no sign of Kobae or Tom. Curses, foiled again.
