The Predator Statue

Tom returns from a day of exploration. There are no critters to be seen. Wind is blowing, sky is dark, a storm is coming, no critters, it makes sense. Tom looks around for the hawk and is nowhere to be found. A few minutes later, looking out the office window that Tom has looked out thousands of times before, something is different. There is a rock, tumbleweed, plant, something, he hasn't seen before. Forty five minutes later the Cooper's hawk hasn't moved even an inch in any direction from the rock he landed on.
