Mountain Lion

For the last ten days or so a female mountain lion has come down from the Anti-Cline to visit the Base Camp area as Tom has found tracks every other day or so. She usually come down twice a year looking for big horn or deer but Tom has never found any evidence she has been successful. This time however we appear to be one female big horn short.

Happy Birthday

With so many guests and so much to do Tom completely forgot a birthday. That's right, Ammie, the ammonite, turned 65 million years old last week. Tom collected some sea shells and sharks teeth to join in the celebration.

The Approach

Tom never gets bored of the approach to the finger canyons.

Hope

It is Tom's hope that these 42 head of lettuce, eight cucumbers, eight zucchini, eight apples, 14 bananas, and the bag of carrots in the fridge will last Kobae thru Wednesday when Tom is next planning to go to town. It's unlikely, but it's Tom's hope. When visitors ask "When does Kobae eat?" Tom answers "Always" When folks ask "What does he eat?" Tom responds "Everything."

River Rising

The huge sandbar beach that was on the other side disappeared nearly overnight. Five days ago to get to the other side of the river you walked down the boat ramp on this side and about 40 feet out to the water where you landed on the other side beach and walked 75 feet to the boat ramp. Today it's boat ramp to boat ramp and the stairs we had at the bottom of the hill are going underwater.
