As the fire and smoke recedes, Tom prepares to return to Moab. Kobae visits Auto Trader to share his knowledge of things that go fast and then visits Lockheed Martin to lend his expertise as to what he knows about flight and stealth.

There are three types of water at the lodge. 1. Well water for wash, showers, and cleaning. 2. Spring water hauled in for drinking. 3. Rain water collected in cisterns for watering. Tom mentioned to Bill that the cisterns on the side of the lodge were unattractive. Bill solved it.

When Kobae approached the wall, Tom didn't bother to take out the camera because he knew it was too high and too steep for any tortoise to climb. Tom looked up from his book and saw the claw marks to the top, and Kobae had moved on.

Not Just Any Tortoise

It has been said that a tortoise can walk as much as one mile in a day. Kobae's journeys were 1.8 on Tuesday, 1.6 on Wednesday, and 2.8 on Thursday.
